Early version of Ludwig's Stratford model, the plectrum version of their tenor model Bellevue, which sold originally for $145. The 10-3/4" diameter rim assembly consists of a one piece integrated flange and tonering in unique black gun metal finish over brass, with gold plated/engraved skirt/tension hoop, and original engraved tailpiece; fancy decorated walnut resonator featuring marquetry and binding, with resonator feet intact with green felt; lots of checking on back. The 27" scale multi piece walnut neck has a bound ebony fingerboard atop layers of laminations, with adjustable cam on side; decorative pearl inlay on fretboard and peghead overlay with some finish chipping and yellowing present, with checking/crazing on back of neck; equipped with later geared tuners. Plays and sounds great with a nice straight neck.
