Late period Vega Artist plectrum banjo restored probably half a century ago by Richelieu. The 10-15/16" diameter rim assembly has all original metal parts, which were long ago replated including four section flange, Tubaphone tonering, tension hoop, neck hardware, with Richelieu reproduction Oettinger tailpiece; pie plate resonator was adapted for thumb screws (with gold plated dime washers) via added mounting brackets inside, with new felt, and some overspray; replaced dowel stick with no stamps. The 27" scale neck has a long heel carving, ebony fretboard with engraved pearlwork; past fretfret with larger size wire, medium pitting and wear present, with some back bow present calling for medium action/string height. Equipped with Planetary style geared tuners. Some checking and wear present on peghead overlay finish and wear around backstrap. Past refinish likely on neck.
