The famous beginner bluegrass Jam is a guided session geared towards beginning and intermediate level students. Even folks who only know a few songs can participate. There is no sheet music involved, so newcomers can follow along with chords and absorb the music by ear. Bernunzio Uptown Music is located at 122 East Avenue in Rochester (map). Parking is available in the East End Garage, which has entrances on Scio St. and Swan St. off of East Avenue.

THE JAM IS FREE - but a small TIP for for the leader is appreciated.

This month the jam will be led by Dan Lynch! 

Meet Dan Lynch! He’ll be hosting the Beginner Bluegrass Jam on Saturday, August 1st. Growing up in a musical family, Dan learned to play guitar, banjo and mandolin from his grandparents in the North Country of New York State. He’s been teaching professionally for over 11 years and currently teaches at the Submarine School of Music on South Clinton Ave. You can find him around town at local libraries hosting family singalongs, aboard the Sam Patch playing historical Erie Canal music, or performing shows with his bands Clinton’s Folly String Band, Old Erie and Heart Throbs String Band.
