Many have said Telecasters are the versatile guitars out there - so it makes sense that an incredibly versatile player like Jim Campilongo would gravitate towards them. Vintage Telecasters are always a nice thing, so Hahn out of Newburgh NY did a fantastic job preserving the sonic glory of yesteryear with some choice upgrades and specifications for modern players. A great looking guitar featuring a thin finish white nitro, this guitar sounds fantastic with the clarity, bite and twang a Telecaster should These guitars are no longer being produced, with some past offerings ranging around $5000.
Built with Sugar Pine wood, this light weight body has a unique look to it, with some streaks appearing darker from its sappy-underlying grain. The white has aged around this grain with a nice honey hue at some points, and has appropriately not been overly grain filled. It has a nice buffed gloss sheen to it, while being a very thin finish. A simple one ply parchment guard looks appropriately vintage, but is cut slightly smaller - a cool and unique spin. Its ashtray cover is custom milled by Hahn, and nicely features their logo. High grade CTS pots and orange drop cap - the wiring job is excellent. Its custom wound pickups are clear with nice tight low end in the neck, woody clarity in the middle, and twang in the bridge. The outputs measure ____
The neck is also nice and glossed, and feels good in the hand, having been inspired by 50's Teles. The neck has a thicker C profile with a very slight taper that measures .87" front to back at the first position, and about .89" at the twelfth. It has a typical 1 5/8" nut width. The action is low, measuring 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret (currently strung up with 10 gauge flat wounds). Gotoh Kluson style tuners work and look just as they should.
Weighs 6.8lbs - Comes with the original gig bag.
