For the guitarist who craves vintage Fender, the American Vintage series Telecaster is calling... The original-era '52 model guitar is built with nice attention & detail that bring Fender history and heritage to authentic and exciting new life. Before there was rock ā€˜nā€™ roll, there was the Telecaster—the Fender guitar that started it all.
This AVRI model was born in 2001, wearing a nice real deal heavy relic from its original owner. A nice ash body with well aged blonde nitrocellulose finish - checking, dings, elbow wear, it's all here. The neck profile has had its original nitro taken down to the bare wood, which feels speedy and will continue to wear naturally. All accurate date stamps (neck pocket March 2001, and neck July 2001), with the original electronics. This guitar has had its wiring changed in its past, but is currently professionally rewired to a modern standard Neck, Neck + Middle, Bridge type setup. The previous owner had put an interesting bullet shell backing on the switch tip, which we've left in place.
As mentioned, this neck feels great with a nice authentic relic that was also augmented by sanding a bit of the finish down. The profile is a thicker C that measures .87" thick at the first position with a subtle taper up to .91" at the twelfth fret. While this guitar has pretty noticeable wear to its finish in the fingerboard, the frets themselves are very clean overall, with only slight wear. It has a standard 1 21/32" nut width (a hair wider than 1 5/8"). The neck is straight, and the action measures a very slinky 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret.
Fender G&G Gold lined tan case is included with the sale!
Weighs 8.2 lbs.
