A unique and certainly rare instrument from the Dobro company. With its hollow metal cast construction, it appears to be made of iron or aluminum & weighs about 10lbs. Art Deco styling with a classic lyre logo and "Dobro" imprinted into the body near the pickup, two long f hole impressions running alongside the neck. 19 frets, it has a bound fretboard (the binding beginning to separate, with a few pieces missing). An open center headstock, it appears to have replaced but only slightly later Grover open gear tuners (the 2nd string currently non functioning with a worn sprocket). A classic aged gold finish appears original, with a very worn red felt bottom. One screw head broken on the back plate.
Most notably the single blade pickup is original, with the traditional oversized horseshoe magnet present. Sadly the pickup does not function, with its original wiring undone from the pickup itself (see photo) - work likely done in the late 70's, with a CTS pot present which dates to the 37th week of '77 (1377737). No output read currently implies the magnet has now failed or it requires a rewind.
Includes original hardshell case.
