Excellently completed conversion to five string from master luthier Wyatt Fawley, utilizing a fancy original 10-15/16" diameter Tubaphone Style X No. 9. Featuring a thick band of marquetry on the rim cap, the pot has all original metal parts including the notched tension hoop, hooks and nuts; new dowel stick. The 26" scale two piece neck features a detailed decoratively carved heel, ebony fingerboard with No. 9 engraved pearl inlay, built with a long backstrap, is completely bound and features engraved pearl inlay on the heel cap as well; equipped with a lovely set of pre-war Planetary Tuners with pearl buttons that function excellently. Some dings, and tarnish present, but otherwise a fine conversion instrument from Fawley.
