From the famous Matsumoku factory in Japan, this Westone shredder is a versatile and fairly rare bird.
With a hand dated 3-86 label on the back cover, signed by Rene Lopez - this guitar completely fits the era. Unique double cut design with their own floating tremolo system, it has a cool blue finish with a subtle burst and sparkle. Triple pickups in HSH configuration, the Magnaflux pickups are wired with traditional Volume and tone controls - with each knob on its own push pull pot, offering up coil splitting, middle position on and off, as well as a phase switch for the bridge. Cosmetically, this example is in great condition with only light surface wear present, setup with the bridge floating 1/2" from the body - the bridge currently setup with a simple 2 spring load.
The bolt on LX neck is finished in black with a dark rosewood fingerboard and medium frets, seen here in very good shape. A graphite nut, the tremolo system works smooth. The neck has a standard 25.5" scale length, and a medium thin C profile. It has a 1 21/32" nut width, the locking nut in functional order. The action is easy, currently measuring 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret.
Includes original hardshell case.
