Beautiful unmarked (perhaps Boston-made) twin-bout flat back mandolin, with a small guitar shaped body. The small fully-bound body is also trimmed with marquetry, with a wide inlaid pickguard containing pearl in floral pattern; rosewood back and sides, thinly grained spruce top, equipped with Waverly Cloud tailpiece; binding shrinkage around back. The mahogany neck has a 14" scale length; rosewood fingerboard was refretted at an unfortunate angle (slanted), rosewood peghead overlay with enclosed tuners on back (treble strings are slipping); well-repaired hairline heel split
