A solid banjo for a player, somewhat of a mystery, likely assembled using early high quality 20th century hardware in the style of Henry Dobson, bearing only a #23006 serial number on the dowel; a great sounding "clucky" banjo, wonderful value for vintage tone. The 11" pot is spun over with a black painted wooden interior, with large Stewart style nuts, round shoes, and hex nuts (except for one screw); equipped with a wider/flatter doughnut shaped tonering, perhaps Washburn, with fancy neck hardware, and with knotty dowel stick inlaid with three simple pearl inlays. The mahogany neck with built with a long scarf piece at heel visible from back, with shorter 25-3/4" scale length, unstamped frailing sheath after 17th fret, simple pearl inlay w/ bird at ninth fret, multiple levels of ebony on Vega shaped peghead (some separation beneath tuners); neck has some mild relief, with dings and dents in metal, cosmetic play wear throughout.
