A heavy hitter budget 5 string! Not much is known about the Traben brand, aside from their clear popularity amongst many bass players. The brand offered high quality instruments at a budget price, finding their way into many collections and praise amongst Internet forums. This 5 string example is of their Array Limited series, and features a unique flamed maple cap atop its mahogany body - all done in transparent red finish. A huge decorative bridge design evokes some heavy metal intrigue, complimenting the 5 strings low end. It has a lot of power, featuring active electronics, a 3 band EQ, Master Volume and a pickup blend control. The bolt on neck design has a standard 35" scale, the neck itself made of 5 ply maple and rosewood - outfitted with a rosewood board. Dual truss rod system fine tunes the neck - this one nicely straight, with a simple shim in the neck pocket to allow for easy low action measuring 3-4mm in height at the twelfth fret. Original Grover tuners work great. Cosmetically, this instrument is in great shape with only surface scratches that are hardly notable. Includes gig bag. Weighs 9.4lbs
