A powerful jumbo, the Taylor 855 12 string is one of the boldest guitars in the shop. With deep basses, unique complex overtones thanks to its double course, and great balance, this is one of the finer 12 strings we've had of recent times. The 855 sports solid construction with a sitka spruce top with a nice burst finish, and three piece Indian rosewood back & sides. The body has a jumbo 17" lower bout, 10" waist and 12.5" upper bout - with an overall depth of 4.5" at the base end and 3.75" at the heel. A simple active pickup system, this guitar is ready for stage use and sounds great. It has a standard 25" scale, with a mahogany neck with bound ebony fingerboard, seen here with dot-split diamond MOP inlay. Gold grover tuners round out a fantastic guitar. While being used, this guitar was beautifully kept for its past 23 years, showing nearly no signs of use. Almost without a surface scratch, this guitar plays beautifully with even low action, a straight neck, and virtually no fret wear. The action measures 6/64" in height at the twelfth fret of the 6th course, and 5/64" for the first. Includes original hardshell case.
