Valco provided the world some of the finest "budget" instruments and amplifiers during the 50's. The Supro name would live on with high regard amongst players and collectors - and did have a reissue era in the 2010's. Since discontinued, these lap steels live up to some of the reputation, certainly reasonable for those on a budget. This example is of the 8 string "Console" from the late 50's. Elegant black finish with a top loader bridge, it is equipped with a vintage inspired pickup with adjustable pole pieces. Setup currently in an extended C6 tuning - it is a nice sounding and useable tuning for a variety of styles of music - Western swing, Hawaiian, Jazz & Country. Used, this one is in good shape with mild surface level wear - notably a small crack on its control panel at the screw - but of no concern. No case.
