Attributed to William Cole, this banjeaurine was made for teacher W.E. Stratton and his business partner J.A. Handley who were based in Lowell, MA. 11" spun-over rim with typical Cole interior hardware, neck brace, and neck adjuster at tailpiece end of dowel stick. 21.5" scale mahogany neck w/ thick ebony fingerboard w/ fancy engraved pearl inlays on peghead and position markers. Outfitted with friction tuners and no-knot tailpiece and Nylgut strings. Some finish checking present on backstrap of neck, and surface cracks on pearwood peghead overlay.
