A D-28!? No! A DR-28!
Sigma guitars were in fact Martins own foray into building overseas. Specifically, the Japanese made models like this DR-28 - which ranged in production from 1970-1983 - are well revered. Constructed with a fully bound solid Sitka Spruce top and laminate Rosewood back & sides, not only does this guitar clearly look the part, it sounds really good especially for the player on a budget. A flat picking cannon, this guitar belongs in its next bluegrass circle. Designed with a standard full 25.5" scale and 1 11/16" nut width.
This example comes to us in great shape from its previous owner. Pick scratches are present on the guard, and some otherwise simple cosmetic wear that is non-structural. The guitar has a nice and straight neck with a fairly tall saddle and good action that measures about 7/64" in height at the twelfth fret on the sixth, and 6/64" on the first. The rosewood fingerboard has some expected wear in the cowboy chord zone - but its frets are clean.
A chipboard case is included with the sale!
