Built by Peter Sawchyn, we are excited to have one of his now discontinued "Hobo" Mandolins. It's Flat top & back construction, this Army Navy styled A Mandolin is a unique and really stunning thing. Constructed with a Red Spruce Top with nicely stylized retro F holes, hide glue construction and a dark nitrocellulose finish it instantly has a classic aesthetic, and sonically its all there. A highly flamed and stained maple back in a lovely addition for a well made instrument like this. The neck is built with a typical 14" scale length, made out of Spanish Cedar. The Ebony fingerboard is comfortably radius'd with guitar sized frets. Sonically, this mandolin has a nice dark tone that is still rich in overtones. While being used, this instrument is in very good shape from he previous owner. Mild surface level wear is present, namely some nicely, naturally glossed play wear around the sound board. The neck is straight with clean frets and low action. Includes hardshell case.
