This is an extremely rare, professional grade model classical banjo with grade 4 appointments: fancy mother of pearl all throughout the fingerboard and peghead, early style ornate "peony" heel carving on the back of the neck. The Orchestra model was a thoroughly professional instrument which featured a 12 inch German silver spun over rim with engraving on the outside and colorful marquetry interior. It has been fitted with a new high-quality calfskin head. The banjo is equipped with original style friction tuners with solid mother of pearl buttons. They have been slightly modified to hold their tune, but they are original. The banjo comes with a period hard shell case. The neck has a slight forward bow, but it plays well set up for classical style.
