The banjeaurine's invention can be attributed to S.S. Stewart, who developed this unique style of banjo for both ensemble and novely usage that featured a shorter neck and fingerboard extension. This particular example is over 130 years old, features a 12.5" German silver rim, with bird's eye maple veneer interior, and features Stewart's patented heavy metal arm in front of the dowel stick; equipped with repro no knot. The cherry neck has 19 frets, with a small extension over the banjo's rim, 19-1/4" scale length; original thin frets apart from 11th, with pearl inlay in stars / diamond / crescent moon pattern; a joy to play w/ nylon setup and a nice straight neck. There is some wear to the neck, and tarnishing on the metal rim. Includes a recent hard shell tenor case (roomy).
