Made for a short time in the late 1970s to early 1980s, Ovation's very cool Viper model is both utilitarian, and aesthetically pleasing.
In a creamy, off-white finish, the small single cut body feature's two humbucking pickups (straight across pole pieces at neck, and staggered on bridge), with a single bound white pickguard with model name embossed into it, two very large tone/volume knobs, and a three-way pickup selector; pots date 1978, and serial number range corresponds; electronics appear to have been re-wired, though are functioning as they should.
The neck has a rosewood fingerboard with 25" scale length, w/ 1-5/8" nut width; typical Ovation peghead shape with original tuners. Condition-wise, this is a good example, with only a few finish chips near neck pocket on body, and on edge of peghead; very minimal fretwear; one of the heads of the neck pocket screws is stripped.
Includes original brown Ovation electric case.
