Produced by Ode in 1965 shortly before the company was purchased by Baldwin the following year, this is a very rare Ode Style F plectrum banjo, a phenomenal instrument, and indicator the high quality Jazz banjos that the Ome Company would build in the following decades. The Style F was the top of the line offering, boasting a Brazilian Rosewood neck, and hand-engraved gold-plated metal parts throughout. The maple rim assembly features Ode's "hand-wrought" flat head tonering, beautifully engraved tailpiece and armrest, bound rosewood resonator. The neck is fully bound with an ebony fingerboard with profuse pearl inlay, detailed heel carving; 26-1/4" scale, 1-3/16" nut width. In stupendous original condition, this banjo has rarely seen the light of day and gleams, only some light finish blips and checking around binding on the back of resonator
