National guitars are synonymous with resonator guitars due to their heritage and history, having produced thousands of fine instruments for the last hundred years. Here we have a very well maintained all Koa Deluxe "Estralita" model dating to 2006. Exceptional tone with a lot of character, this resonator has a nice bite to it, plenty of bass response and a nice balance. The all Koa body provides great detail with good volume and vintage appeal. Good sustain and bright attack with its single cone, this particular example has also been upgraded with the Revolution compensated biscuit bridge. Fully bound with nice MOP inlay, and a pearloid peg head veneer (slot peg head) - it looks as good as it sounds. This example is in excellent condition with hardly a mark on it. The cone and cover show no wear, and have been well maintained (see photos). The current setup is nice for both Spanish and slide playing, the action measuring a standard 6/64" in height at the twelfth fret on the sixth string, and about 5/64" on the first string. The neck profile has a soft V to it, and measures a comfortable and slightly hefty .94" thick at the first position, tapering up to about 1.1" at the tenth fret before the curvature of the heel. It has a 1 13/16" nut width and a standard 24.75" scale length. Includes the original hardshell case.
