A fine vintage, we are pleased to have this lovely Martin 0-15 Concert guitar dating to 1957.

Simple but elegant, the "0" concert sizing is comfortable to sit with, and yields a good volume and a healthy warm tone. Suitable for fingerstyle, it has a nice dry boxy tone when strung up with Monel strings, and opens up with a fair amount of brightness and definition with bronze. Cosmetically this guitar is in good shape, with some crazing / checking in the semi gloss lacquer, and nicks around its edge - but nothing too troubling. Playability-wise, this guitar could benefit from a neck reset, and is priced accordingly. More information below.

The 0 body size is a nice and comfortable 13.5" across at the lower bout and 10" at the upper bout. It is braced with a then standard, forward shifted, tapered but non-scalloped X bracing pattern. The X brace has been reglued in its past with slight evidence of glue. It has a nice, and likely reglued small maple bridge plate. It measures 4.25" deep.

A 14 fret to the neck design, the neck is made of mahogany and re-inforced a steel T-bar. It is designed with a 24.9" scale length, with a 1 11/16" nut width. The neck profile is fairly clean with expected wear and dings. The profile measures .85" in thickness at the first fret tapering to about 1.2 at the 12th before the curvature of the heel. Brazilian rosewood fingerboard is in good shape with some "standard" wear in the cowboy chord zone and minimal fret wear overall. As mentioned before, the neck angle on this particular instrument leaves a bit to be desired, and it might be in the best interest for the next owner to explore a reset. The action measures 8/64" in height at the twelfth fret - certainly not unplayable. Original tuners still in great, functional condition.
