Getting a thumbs up is a sign of something done well - getting a new guitar is always fun - Lindert Guitars of Chelan Washington does both, just look at the headstock! American company Lindert operated during the 90's, with this example dated to March of 1998. With a patented thumbs up headstock, it is immediately unique and fun, the way music is supposed to be. This example features the "Locomotive" body style, a take on the traditional Telecaster. The mdf body is constructed out of three pancaked pieces with a retro pebble purple-brown finish. With an altered version of a regular pickguard and decorative tweed pattern, it is part art deco, part steam punk, part American hot rod - resulting in what feels very American, and very well made. Unmarked humbucker in the neck and single coil in the bridge, it has a retro type of tone with a lot of warmth and a lot of punchy attack - definitely good for some blues or anything you might otherwise throw at a Danelectro. While being over 25 years old, it is in good shape but does appear to have some small surface level cracks in the sides - which ultimately don't appear to affect its integrity. The neck is pretty far out on this guitar. A standard bolt on design, with a 25.5" scale length and 1 23/32" nut width - the profile has an asymmetrical shape, feeling like a V on the bass side, and a C on the treble side. Love it or hate it, this is care and dedication to an idea. This example comes to us in great playing condition, with easy low action measuring 4-5/64" in height at the twelfth fret. Weighs 7.9 lbs Includes polyfoam case.
