Kramer Guitars are some of the most iconic of the 80's issue shredders. Not often seen, The Duke was a short lived line from the company, featuring their well regarded aluminum neck design with an ebanol (faux ebony) fingerboard. Competing with Steinberger instruments, the line similarly featured a headless design - with the tuners at the base end of the instrument - making it compatible with standard guitar strings (the ball end at the end of the headstock. A few variations existed overall, but production numbers were ultimately likely very low for the 2 or so years they were produced. Needless to say, this headless 6 string guitar is a head turner - and that's something we're very into here. The light pink body measures a mere 7.75" across at the base end, outfitted with 6 tuners mounted to the back edge. Two Schaller humbuckers are selectable via the mini toggle. The electronics appear to be untouched. The white primer has began to penetrate the pink finish, via case/strap burn - although very subtle - giving it a slightly marbled kind of look. Kramer stamped bridge, with roller saddles - this is a unique choice that likely was pieced together from other parts. The neck is designed with a two bolt mounting system behind the neck plate. The neck is composed of wood with the aluminum frame, which has kept the neck dead straight. A 25" scale, it plays easily with low action that measures 4-5/64" in height at the twelfth fret. The frets are clean showing virtually no wear. Includes what appears to be the original hardshell brown case. Weighs 7lbs.
