From across the pond, a lovely J. E. Dallas Zither banjo made in London, England around the turn of the 20th century. Featuring a an all aluminum 8-1/2" diameter rim assembly, with top-tensioned design, but a wooden neck with an intricate heel carving. Profuse decorative etching present throughout the banjo, with the initials "MC" on the back. Featuring a 26-3/4" scale cherry neck, with ebony fretboard w/ large lightly engraved pearl inlays, and was built with a tunneled fifth string slotted pegbox design; gold plated branded tuners, w/ oval pearl buttons (one button removed for 5 string playing, and some chips present to pearl); maker stamps and serial numbers present on reverse of peghead; some typical forward relief, cosmetic wear, and tarnish present.
