This is an original teardrop shaped Roy Smeck model with very thin spruce top and highly figured mahogany back and sides. The top features seal shaped sound holes (the fish eating variety). Minor playing wear and scuffs; some evidence that the back was reglued and bridge replaced, but no major flaws. The "Vita" moniker is a throwback to his work with Vitaphone which pioneered the way for sound production in film and recordings. This is a great artifact from 100 years ago that is playable and enjoyable and presents well in its original case
