Gibson Custom Shop built exactly to pre-war Flathead specs including RB-75 twenty-hole tonering, triple-plated yellow gold hardware, tiger maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, flying eagle inlays...Custom Shop Certificate of Authenticity included. The 11" diameter ply rim assembly is of highly flamed maple, with gold plated metal parts including one-piece flange, thumb-screws, with engraved Presto tailpiece, armrest, and notched tension hoop; the matching resonator is fully bound and features a spectacular pattern to the flame. Attractive one-piece maple neck with fully bound 26.31" scale rosewood fingerboard, with Flying Eagle pearl inlay on fretboard, double-cut peghead with 1.19" diameter bone nut, and equipped with gold-plated two-band Planetary style geared tuners w/ pearloid buttons; added railroad spikes on seven, nine, & ten. Condition-wise, the instrument shows signs of careful usage (surface scratches, checking, slight indents behind flange on resonator side-wall), with a smoke odor present inside the original Gibson case (COA included), and distantly on banjo itself. A step back in time to pre Bluegrass, from a limited run of 25, made in 2008.
