Interesting non-Mastertone Gibson conversion to five string utilizing an original TB-2 rim assembly from 1926, with a neck by Wyatt Fawley; this is a really nicely playing instrument, great as a somewhat quieter bluegrass or folk banjo. The 3/4" thick maple rim assembly has the original small yellow Gibson label, single coordinating rod, tube type tonering, FON stamps, with diamond flange, nickel armrest, period tailpiece, single bound mahogany resonator, with faded chalk/pencil marks w/ former owner name in sharpie on rim inside; interior wall lamination shrinking a bit, and repaired separation to rim cap. The single piece mahogany neck was built with a 26-1/4" scale length rosewood fingerboard, with style correct pearl inlay on the board and peghead overlay w/ peanut shape; equipped with spikes on 7/9 with original Grover Two Tab tuners from tenor, w/ 1-1/4" wide nut. Little wear present, and easy to play. Includes 60s hard case.
