Clean, single owner example of a non-Mastertone Gibson TB-1 from 1929. The full thickness multi-ply maple rim assembly has a single coordinator rod, small gold Gibson label, cast one piece flange and tension hoop, old skin head; flange has slight warpage with hairline fractures on back in seven o'clock position between resonator mount bracket, tension hoop is minimally flared plating is chipping in several areas/with small crunches at nine and three o'clock; mahogany resonator is bound on either side, with bold chalk and ink mark stamps inside, binding shrinkage throughout (most present near neck cutout area). The twenty-three inch scale one piece mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard, tall original bar frets, batwing fretboard position inlay, fiddle-cut peghead w/ pearl Gibson script, Grover two-tab; light wear present on back of neck and on heel cap.
