A Les Paul that will "go with anything" - this '98 Les Paul sports an all black finish and plays great, ready for its next stage... This example includes an all black pickguard and mounting rings which would have been stock to the guitar - the previous owner having swapped them out to a classic cream (less the PU selector puck). Outfitted with 490/498 pickups, it has a nice balanced output that can be warm for jazz, bright for pop, and certainly can handle heavy amounts of distortion when needed. Cosmetically, this example comes to us in good shape with some very light surface wear, and a long mild finish line parallel to its sixth string - likely from the joined pieces in this ones top. The back shows some buckle wear - but nothing that breaks through the black finish. Untouched, non circuit board electronics it retains all of the original Gibson branded pots. The neck is fairly standard, with the 24.75" scale length and 1 11/16" nut width, the profile measuring a "medium" thin taper of .86" in depth at the first position up to about .98" at the twelfth fret. A very nice unbound rosewood fingerboard, this retains the original frets, still in tall, mildly worn condition. The action is low measuring 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret, currently setup with 10s. Grover tuners all function as they should. Weighs 8.75 Includes upgraded brown Gibson hardshell case!
