One of the most recognizable guitars in the world, the Les Paul Custom. Dating to 1976 this example sports the burst finish of the Norlin Era. Known for their "pancake" mahogany bodies, these guitars being a reasonably priced alternative for a vintage Gibson, they are quite popular amongst players for any genre. Cosmetically, the lacquer is shows a fair bit of wear along its edges, with substantial buckle rash and play wear in its profile all to be expected in its near 50 years of age. The lacquer has been worn through around the binding, and shows extensive buckle rash, some remnants of old tape and case/neck yolk burn throughout. The binding is in very nice condition. This likely was originally outfitted with gold hardware and black plastics - most of which has been replaced. The pickups currently are inexpensive budget hum buckers, the originals long gone. The hardware is not stamped, but roughly era correct chrome of a different maker. Replaced pickguard, knobs, pickups, mounting rings/screws, back plates - the original pickguard MOUNT *is* gold, and likely last original piece of hardware. The tuners have also been replaced during its lifetime - currently a nice old set of Grovers. Clean straight neck, the guitar yields even low action and playability - currently set up with 10's. The ebony fingerboard is fairly clean with some deeper wear towards the first position. Original fretless wonder frets are clean with nibs intact but well worn in the binding. The profile measures a comfortable .81" thick at the first position and .96" at the twelfth. It has a 1 21/32" nut width. The action measures a low 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret. Comes with the original hardshell case with a plush magenta interior. The case has seen better days, but functions as it should. Ripped tolex, stickers, and an added latch present. Weighs 9.8 lbs.
