A great example of the "Electric Spanish" ES-125, dating to the mid 50's. The ES-125 model became a popular model amongst jazz and folk players, and is well regarded for its sonic quality. The full hollow body design with a solid spruce top and laminate maple back, is nicely augmented with its single P90 pickup - making it a nicely streamlined jazz box, and relatively affordable in the vintage market.

This one comes to us in great condition in its original chipboard case. Sonically this guitar is everything we love about early/mid 50's Gibsons, with its dark but defined tone, with articulation perfect for jazz in the neck, that when pushing a vintage amp has the thick character we all love. The guitar cosmetically has typical checking from age, but otherwise just pretty mild aesthetic wear. The binding still in tact and well preserved. Mild nicks are present mainly on the back. The hardware appears all original, which further matches the condition, original rosewood bridge stands very tall indicating a great playable neck angle. Original single ply cellulose pickguard still intact.

As mentioned, the neck is in good shape, with simple wear its profile and clean frets. It has nice even low action that currently measures 4-5/64" in height at the twelfth fret on the first and sixth strings. The nut width measures a nice 1 11/16", and the neck profile measures a standard vintage heft measuring about .87" thick at the first position. Original Kluson Deluxe tuners present and functional.
Original pickups present with outputs that measure 7.95k.

Comes with the original Gibson chipboard case.
