Purchased in 1973, at the height of the “Deliverance" scare. This is a fifty year old, German made, five string banjo with heavy, top tension “industrial” design; embossed flange and arm rest, T-type tailpiece; rosewood fingerboard; mahogany neck and full, heavy resonator.
I have to say this banjo actually sounds great for its price. It plays easily and has lots of power, however, it’s just not something I could ever imagine in a Bluegrass band. It’s a nice Bavarian cream puff.
