Widely accepted as the ideal “mid sized” Fender amp, the Vibrolux Reverb has a distinctive sound and character that players are drawn to. With a 35 watt, 6L6 power amp and 2x10” speakers, the Vibrolux can keep pace with the band without the added size and weight of Fender’s larger amplifiers. This “silverface” example dates to the first quarter of 1974. These amps offer a sound and quality comparable to its “blackface” counterpart, at a more accessible price point.

This amp comes to us in good cosmetic condition, with some road wear present. The faceplate and backplate both have some scratches, but are in decent shape. The metal hardware has some rust and pitting present consistent with its age. The tolex and grille are also in good shape overall, and the side of the cabinet is adorned with a vintage James Gang sticker. The only major cosmetic blemish is a broken speed knob, which still functions as it should. A set of casters has also been added to the cabinet.

Internally the amp has seen some routine service, with a replaced 3-prong power cord present. The filter capacitors have been replaced with a nice set of Sprague capacitors. Inside the chassis, the amp is almost completely original aside from a few metal resistors in the output section. All transformers are original. The back of the cabinet reveals a nice pair of original Fender Special Design 12” speakers. The amp has mostly been re-tubed, but with a tasteful selection of older and vintage tubes replacing the originals.

This is a great amp for any Fender fan looking for a manageable, excellent sounding combo.

No footswitch or cover included.
