Shredders rejoice!
A great all original example, this 1979 Strat would be a perfect option for any player looking for a Blackmore style influenced instrument. Original olympic white has aged to a nice fairly even yellow, albeit with some subtle case burn, primarily around the upper horn and back. The finish looks great against the three ply w/b/w pickguard equipped with the original black plastics (pickup covers, knobs, switch and tremolo tip). Original bridge, this is setup with a light 2 spring tremolo setup for easy dive bombs. Original saddles, it has one replaced saddle lug screw. Internally pot codes date accurately to early '78, with only one obscured by the original factory wiring. The neck pocket includes original factory sticker with matching serial number to the headstock.
The neck is nice and straight, and easy to play with low action. Three bolt neck with micro tilt adjustment makes dialing it in a breeze. All maple neck, the bullet truss rod is responsive with room to move in either direction, currently very straight with only a touch of the micro tilt. The frets are evenly, lightly worn - and it plays well in each register - the action measuring an even 4/64" in height currently. The profile has a bit of heft measuring .90" in depth at the first position tapering up to about .94" at the twelfth - the nut width measuring 1 5/8". It has a 7.25 radius.
10.1 lbs.
