Fender fans will surely be impressed by this rare Princeton Amp "6G2". This dates to the hayday of Fender history, 1964, and fits right into their transition era. The 6G2 is highly regarded as one of the better amp designs the company released. The design came from the older Brownface model, that would later be changed into the AA964 Blackface design, and then into the Reverb models. Uniquely, the 6G2 features the iconic "Bias Wiggle" Tremolo circuit - that has a stunningly smooth response. Unlike later Princetons, this design also has a single Tone control, rather than Bass/Treble independence. This is a fixed bias amplifier, which generally results in compressed gain staging. This one comes to us in very good condition with really hardly any wear in the faceplate, and light wear on the tolex and grill cloth. The amp has been expertly re-built on the insides with orange drop capacitors and metal film resistors, resulting in a super low noise floor. Both transformers are original to the amp. It is outfitted with a Weber Alnico speaker and a mostly new tubeset. Newer Fender branded soft cover included in the sale.
