The Fender Deluxe “5E3” remains the most coveted amp Fender ever produced. Having been used by Neil Young, these amps have become a staple for studios, session musicians and collectors alike.

Produced from '55-60, the magical 5E3 circuit is renowned for having a subtle ghost in the machine, where both volumes impact the volume and tone of whichever input you are plugged into. Different combinations of the three knobs yield a limitless spectrum of usable, lively tone.

This 5E3 dates to April 1957 and is in excellent cosmetic condition. The original tweed is in very good condition, with light wear throughout. The handle and hardware have been replaced with a modern handle, The faceplate is in good condition with some scratches and pitting present. The screen print is faded in some spots, but still perfectly legible. The rear of the cabinet reveals a completely intact tube chart. The original speaker was replaced some time ago with an unmarked 12” speaker. Although it lacks some bass, it sounds fairly good. The back panel still has the strip of the infamous asbestos fabric heat shield.

This Deluxe has been expertly restored on the inside, including new filter and cathode bypass capacitors, new 3-prong power cord, one replaced coupling cap (full original set otherwise), and a replaced fuse holder. Many original parts that were replaced are included in the sale, including Astron & Mallory capacitors, brown two prong power cord, fuse holder, original power cord strain relief, the original handle and its hardware. Non-functioning GE & Tung Sol tubes are also included. Both of the transformers are original.

This is an incredible piece for the right player, studio, or collector, and is one that not only looks - but also sounds simply astounding.
