A nicely priced and VERY versatile Stratocaster, suitable for any player! These 90's era Strats were definitely built well, with solid and speedy necks which have held up well in the last 25+ years.
This example has been well maintained and has a good setup with a nice straight neck and super clean frets. The action is light, measuring in at about 4-5/64" in height at the twelfth fret with no issues. The all maple neck with the rosewood board is in great shape with the standard 1 11/16" nut width. The neck has a slim C profile that measures .80" with a slight taper only up to about .87" in thickness at the twelfth fret.
The pickups on this model are a nicely upgraded set, featuring I believe a pair of Tex-Mex singles in the neck and middle (stamped 016730), with a Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB pickup in the bridge. The electronics on this guitar feature a nice MDX tone control in the bridge, which has a detent in the middle as a "true 0", allowing the player to cut treble, or cut bass depending on which direction they turn the knob - helpful for dialing in a solo or rhythm sound in one knob. The volume control employs a push pull pot, which splits the coils on the bridge humbucker pickup - allowing the player to go from noiseless higher gain tones to a classic Fender bridge quack. All in all it plays wonderfully and delivers a classic bell-like-chime that we all know and love from a Strat, but can do so much more when needed.
This example comes to us in good shape. Slight discoloration to the plastics, as well as very light surface scratches present in the finish, with some minor nicks mostly present around the head stock. The profile of the neck has some wear present, and had a knot in the rosewood near the 2nd fret - we can call it character.
Comes with the original molded plastic hardshell case.
Weighs 8.4 lbs.
