This is a wonderfully preserved, top-of-the-line, A. C. Fairbanks banjo from the collection of Mr. Akira Tsumura and pictured on page 135 of his book 1001 Banjos. The 27" neck is made of the finest curly maple and is straight and true with all fanciest engraved Pearl in tact.. It sports the original pearl button friction tuners and long, Kerschner tailpiece with cams. The back of the neck appears to have been over-finished at some point. A very fine example.
