From the brief partnership of Albert Fairbanks & William Cole, this is their Expert model, which features a spun-over 11.5" rim w/ 27" scale neck. Black painted interior of pot, with appropriate and matching stamps on dowel and side wall; grooved tension hoop with early hardware (square nuts/pointed shoe), with 1886 patent tailpiece. The neck is of mahogany with ebony board and long backstrap, and "boat" heel shape; extremely cool bone frets, and saw cut pearl inlay; equipped with carved friction pegs. A great old time banjo, with a only very light forward relief.
