A perfect axe for the player looking for vibe on a budget!
The 90's era Epiphones were produced in the Peerless factory, known for its high quality craftsman working their at the time, many of which having become favorites amongst players. Here we have a fairly uncommon one, an Epiphone Black Beauty - a memorable Les Paul featuring three pickups, gold hardware, and a factory Epiphone stamped Bigsby!
The iconic black finish is suitable for any occasion from a versatile pop guitar, to a doomy metal band. Fully bound, this guitar is cosmetically in good shape having been serviced in its likely storied past. Original Epiphone branded Bigsby works as it should with a taller spring. Replaced gold control knobs fit the look nicely. The pickups all function as they should with a wide variety of tones including the uncommon middle pickup sound.
The headstock, like any good Gibson, has broken in its past likely taking the original truss rod cover with it. It arrived here to us with a well done (and well hidden) repair. The tuners have been swapped, presumably a few times - now back to a fitting gold Grover set. The neck is nice and straight with clean frets and low action that currently measures about 4/64" in height at the twelfth fret, with plenty of room for adjustment at the saddle.
This is quite the bang for the buck. It's like Neil Young on a budget.
