A nice, nearly new, shade top, inspired by one of the most intriguing vintage instruments to ever exist. Collings truly *nailed* it with their D2H model, seen here with a classic sunburst finish. Based on a classic 28, this guitar features a nice herringbone trim and exceptional Madagascar Rosewood back & sides. A classic tone that boasts substantial volume, strong bass and clear trebles - this is one of those kinds of guitars that will turn heads from its sounds AND its looks.
This particular example comes to us in nearly new shape having not really been used by the previous owner, with a production date of 2023. The burst finish looks great with only a small small mark on its surface. Exceptionally straight grained Madagascar Rosewood back, that have a stunning reddish/purple hue. It is constructed with a nicely scalloped X bracing pattern and a traditional thin maple bridge plate. It has a standard 25.5" scale length and comfortable 1.75" nut width (with a nice medium C profile).
Easy playability with an untouched saddle, the action measures 6/64" in height on the bass side at the twelfth fret, and a hair over 4/64" in height for the first string (very easy). Open gear Wavery tuners nicely nod to yesteryear and function without flaw.
