An inspiring American-made violin, bearing the signature of Calvin McCombie inside, of high grade maple, and with notable arch on back. The body is of bookmatched flamed maple back and sides, a tightly grained spruce top w/ double purfling and is equipped with ebony tailpiece w/ decorative engraved pearl inset. One piece maple neck w/ ebony fingerboard; pegbox was previously re-doweled. Notable cosmetic wear and tear present, w/ lots of character and surface wear; maker's signature/date present inside, as well as repair notation from Clark Powers from 1894.
