Finely built, likely Buckbee NY, small sized banjo , perfect as a convenient, easy to play banjo, fantastic for frailing. The heavily built spun-over rim assembly measures 9-1/2" in diameter, with wooden interior wall (some discoloration present in "afternoon" hours), with original hooks and nuts, and setup with a simple Daisy tailpiece; lovely engraved/notched tension hoop. The 24" scale neck is of finely grained cherry, with an ebony fingerboard, and patent friction tuners (later fifth); pearl inlay present on peghead overlay, and down the neck, which has mild forward relief/is great for frailing; reseated star inlay. Extremely well repaired hairline heel cracks, repaired heel cap, with discoloration of neck near heel on treble side; frets are later with some light wear. "F.N.C" scratched lightly on dowel stick.
