This is ANOTHER immaculately clean, all original Bacon FF model, most likely commissioned, and made by William Lang, in NY. The 27" scale neck is white Holly with attractive, but not overly ornate, inlay in the peghead and fingerboard. The heel is beautifully carved. The 11" rim is the typical FF "hollow "construction with 2 "f" holes on the back and "curled tonering. The dowel stick reads SPECIAL GRAND CONCERT. The name, E. H. Hummel is scratched into the rim….perhaps the original owner The banjo is currently set up with light, steel strings. The original, gold friction tuners sport solid, mother of pearl buttons. Set up with old, "window pane" five string style tailpiece. It appears to retain the original calf skin head. The banjo is presented in the original hardshell case.
