The Nippon Gakki factory of Japan has produced a number of high grade instruments for Yamaha - with many punching far above their price points, used by notable players and songwriters.
The FG-75 has a small concert style body, built with thin laminate construction - yielding an inexpensive but nice sound. A nice open tone great for a beginner, it has articulate detail and surely would record well with a nice mid-range-y Gibson-esque kind of voice.
The top is built with a thin laminate spruce top, internally ladder braced (there's the Gibson thing), with a thin maple bridge plate. The back and sides are made with a laminate mahogany exterior - and on the inside, it actually shows an interesting tight flame (it *could* be maple?). The lower bout measures a mere 14.5" across, with a 9.5" waist, and 11" upper bout. Cosmetically, this one shows some nicks and dings from use, but all cosmetic and nothing structural.
The neck has a 25" scale length, and 1.75" nut width, the profile having a very very slight V contour. The action plays well, albeit with the truss rod maxed out, measuring a standard 6/64" in height at the twelfth fret. The neck and frets have some cosmetic nicks and dings.
Includes simple gig bag.
