Extremely well executed Vega Artist conversion from plectrum to five string featuring a gorgeous neck made by Olen Gardner at the end of 2001 (maker stamp present under the heel). The 10-15/16" diameter rim assembly features all original gold plated metal parts, including individual flanges and perforated Tubaphone tonering, with the addition of a nice original nickel plated/patent stamped five string Oettinger tailpiece; flamed maple pie plate resonator present, with engraved ivoroid sides; enlarged neck cutout with new felt; some tarnish and wear present on gold, with scratching and dings present on wooden parts. The flamed maple conversion neck has a robust profile, stylistically correct heel carving/engravings, with the peghead inlay and heel cap apparently pulled from the original plectrum neck (old dowel stick installed as well); ebony fingerboard with shorter 26-1/4" scale length, 1-1/4" wide nut; equipped with original gold plated Planet tuners, with friction fifth string tuner/pearloid button. Included in sale is original plectrum hard case
