A First Edition model - Number 37 of only 100 produced, this Taylor Grand Orchestra, model 718E, is a modernized design for the vintage purist. A Jumbo style body with nicely sloped shoulders, it has a Gibson aesthetic with a more Martin-esque open tone. It has quite a bit of volume, with a hefty bass and nice and bright trebles - suitable for any flat picker.
The guitar is built with a Sitka Spruce top, and Indian rosewood back & sides - the lower bout measuring 16.75" across. Light and scalloped Adirondack spruce X bracing, it is equipped with the bridge plate ES-2 pickup. The neck joins the body at the 14th fret with a standard scale length design of 25.5". The bound ebony fingerboard has an eloquent ivory diamond inlay pattern. The neck is a speedy and comfortable, typical Taylor C shape with a 1.75" nut width. The neck on this example is nice and straight with virtually no fret or fingerboard wear present.
Aesthetically, this guitar is in great shape with only very insignificant surface level wear present on its top. The neck is straight and yields very easy low action that measures about 5/64" in height at the twelfth fret, its saddle appearing untouched. A great players instrument that meets both vintage aesthetics and modern tone and playability.
Includes original hardshell case.
