From a limited run in 2008, this Taylor Grand Auditorium sports some very stunning Koa wood back & sides, albeit here with a puncture wound. While not affecting the guitars performance, it is up to the next owner on how far they'd like to take the repair - matching this high quality woods grain is quite a feat, and maybe not so important to a player. The Grand Auditorium shape is a unique design for Taylor, and is highly regarded amongst a myriad of different playing styles - leaning into the finger style dynamic with a comfortable smaller waist size - it has a large lower bout at 15 7/8" across - making great for any strummers. Thanks to a Cedar top, it has a dynamic tone that works well for chord work where intricate definition is important. As mentioned, cosmetically, this guitar could be in better shape, and is listed As Is because of this. The back has a puncture about 2" or so in length requiring some filler strip to be added. The top shows some nicks and dings mainly a chip a at the treble side lower bout of the top, as well as a sealed crack and a crack running parallel to its edge all at the treble side lower bout - indicating it likely fell etc. Internally the bracing appears in tact, and doesn't seem to impede this guitar sonically. The original Taylor Expression Pickup System works as it should.

The neck is constructed with a standard 25.5" scale length and a 1.75" nut width. The neck has a very soft V profile and is constructed out of mahogany with a bound ebony fingerboard with abalone dot inlay. The neck is slim measuring .85" in depth at the first fret and tapering up to only about .87" ninth fret. The neck is straight and the action is low measuring 5/64" in height at the twelfth fret of the sixth string and about 4/64" on the first, the saddle having been taken down only slightly. The frets and fingerboard are in good condition with very minimal wear overall.

A nice guitar for the player who can appreciate the nice craftsmanship and quality of the wood utilized.

Includes original hardshell case.
