From Charles A. Stromberg and Sons, an early variant of their famous Cupperphone series of banjos, a serious Irish banjo featuring an 11-5/8" diameter rim assembly, 20.5" scale length maple neck. The heavy rim assembly features the firm's fabled/patented "Cupperphone" tonering, which features 41 perforated tin tubes, with notched tension hoop, engraved tailpiece, bracket-band, and exterior metal rim cap; plaque and neck hardware present. The three piece maple neck has a 20.5" scale length with extended ebony fingerboard (16 to pot, tapered extension to 21st), is fully bound, with pearl dot inlays, and thin original frets w/ medium pitting; Vega-esque peghead shape with ebony overlay, simple engraved diamond pearl peghead inlay...equipped with Two-Band Gotoh tuners for easy tuning; some fall-off at extension, but a nice player with straight neck.
